Labasint History

Once upon a time, was this idyllic village in Transylvania, surrounded by a vast forest, where 600 people existed contentedly on sheep husbandry and the harvest of the land, in perfect harmony with nature.
In 1477, these lands were initially referenced as Labasowcz in the area’s historical records. First owned by the Orszag aristocratic family, later by the Bannfy family, this village was a part of the fortress of Soimos.
For four centuries, the village was largely forgotten, but in 1924 it had a population of more than 500 people, including a mayor, a notary, a teacher, a miller, and two metalworkers, and a notary public.

A small but densely populated society that could self-sufficiently produce and consume everything it required, with no help from the outside world. At that time, the village of Labaschinz consisted of a church, a school, a village hall, a variety of colorful dwellings distributed throughout the valley, cultivated fields, grazing sheep, several waterfalls with clear water, pure forest air, the sun, and nature.

All of this started to change in the 1960s, when people moved to big industrial cities in droves, drawn by the promise of a new and modern world. Young people agreed that there were only three old families left, and where homes used to be, nature was slowly taking back its space.

Labașinț’s little blossom bloomed 50 years later.

The son of Mariana and Marius, who worked for Agro Sirena s.a. , showed that the woodland village had woken up after decades of lethargy. Alex showed that things were shifting, going in the opposite direction of decades.
Labașinț has now established a green community in honour of all that has remained untainted in the past and present: Mother Nature.
It is an art to live or spend time in a place devoid of traffic, asphalt, and tension.

Therefore we call it the Art of Living.
